Roses have become a symbol of the Museum of Civilian Voices. These flowers were not chosen by accident. In fact, Donetsk, the heart of Donbass, is considered to be the city of a million roses. Every rose represents a story posted in the Museum of Civilian Voices.
The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation was the first in Ukraine to initiate the laying of the Rose Avenue in cities that have become a "second home" for civilians in Donbass. Each Alley is laid down together with the settlers and becomes a place of power for them. The planted flowers symbolize the stories of civilians, whose lives the war divided into "before" and "after".
In 2020, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, together with IDPs, who found their second home in new cities, made the first two Alleys Civilian Voices. Civilian Roses. One thousand rose bushes were planted in Zaporizhia and Mariupol. Also, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation engaged the children participating in the project Peaceful Summer to plant the Rose Alley in Sviatohirsk.
In 2021, new Rose Alleys will appear on the map of Ukraine, in Vinnytsia and Kharkiv cities..
We would like to see the Alleys “Civilian Voices. Civilian Roses” blooming in every corner of Ukraine as a symbol of power of Donbass civilians.
