Stream: What is fear and why is it dangerous?

What is fear and how is it dangerous? How does constant fear affect the mental and physical health of civilians in Donbass? Can fear be overcome and how to do it?

A certified gestalt therapist, family psychologist Kateryna Vepro, answered these and other questions from the audience.

The expert noted that constant fear for one’s life and the lives of loved ones, anxiety and unpredictability are factors that have an extremely negative effect on the mental and physical health of civilians in Donbass. This often results in not only sleep disturbance, but also health problems, in particular problems with the nervous and cardiovascular systems.

During the live broadcast, Kateryna Vepro also shared some tips on how to overcome the feeling of fear. According to her, you need to clearly define for yourself what this fear is connected with and how real it is. If this fear is assumed or imaginary, then it is necessary to use methods of rationalization and operate with facts. If the fear is real indeed, then a person should create for himself or herself the safest possible place for a dangerous situation.
